Guidelines for Members
Cross-Border Reporting Projects
Asian Dispatch is committed to work with its members on cross-border reporting projects that align with the editorial guidelines of Asian Dispatch and the member newsrooms. Asian Dispatch will remain the nodal editorial and administrative unit for the stories.
Participation in larger projects are optional. However, members should aim to contribute to at least one story/reporting per year through a reporter/editor of their choosing.
Asian Dispatch’s editorial processes will be completely transparent. That is, everyone from reporters and editors, to visual designers and website back-end experts working on projects will be a part of the production process. An Asian Dispatch project requires a commitment of a certain number of hours, which will be set by the member and Asian Dispatch on the basis of the project involved.
Republishing Guidelines
Asian Dispatch and participatory members will jointly publish stories they worked on together. Other non-participatory members can then cross-publish afterwards on their websites and platforms. Members will credit Asian Dispatch in all republishing efforts by using the following disclaimer below such stories: “This is a collaborative project between [Insert Participatory Member] and Asian Dispatch”.
Asian Dispatch members are also allowed to republish pieces on their own website from our repository, with the following credits: “This story was originally published by [Newsroom Name] on [Date]. [Newsroom Name] is a member of Asian Dispatch.”
